The images may take a few moments to load ~ please be patient. In the meantime, here's something from the Playbill or your reading pleasure...

The Glines production of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy opened at the Little Theatre on June 10, 1982, under the direction of Peter Pope, and was the first to present all three plays (International Stud, Fugue in a Nursery and Widows and Children First!) as a single evening's entertainment.

Torch Song Trilogy, written by Harvey Fierstein, featured Harvey Fierstein (as Arnold), Court Miller (as Ed), Estelle Getty (as Mrs Beckoff), Paul Joynt (as Alan), Fisher Stevens (in his Broadway debue as David), Diane Tarleton (as Laurel), and Susan Edwards (as Lady Blues). Also appearing as Arnold were David Garrison and Jonathan Hadary. Also appearing as Ed was Peter Ratray. Musical Director was Ned Levy.

And David Mayhew, publicist on the off-Broadway run of TST, offers the following tidbits on TST and Fisher:

Torch Song Trilogy began it's off-Broadway run in October of 1981 at a now-demolished theater in the West 60's of Manhattan called the Richard Allen Center.  Matthew Broderick was playing the role of "David," which Fisher subsequently took over.  Several weeks later TST transferred to the Actors Playhouse in Greenwich Village, still with Broderick in the role of David.   When Broderick left to film "Max Dugan Returns," Fisher replaced him and, ultimately, debuted in the role when the show transferred to Broadway's Little Theatre (now known as the Helen Hayes Theatre).

<snip> I might add that Fisher was one of the nicest actors I ever worked with, a talented guy and a genuinely good soul.
